In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds is taking extra precautions to assure the health and safety of our employees and guests. It is our mission to keep guests and staff safe while also continuing to make your visit a memorable experience.

The 2021 Elkhart County 4-H Fair will be held July 23-31 with safety restrictions in place.

The Elkhart County 4-H & Agricultural Exposition, Inc. feels strongly that our community, local families, and 4-H youth need our Fair to continue this summer and are doing everything in our power to make sure that happens while being financially responsible to ensure we are here for generations to come.

The COVID-19 situation is still rapidly changing from week to week. However, based on information provided to us by local authorities, the outlook is positive for large events to return this summer.

Safety restrictions may be lessened or increased based on our county’s risk factors in July. However, for planning purposes, we will be following a Health & Safety Plan that has been developed in cooperation with the Elkhart County Health Department.

We ask our community members to understand that the required restrictions are outside of the Fair’s control and our goal is to keep our guests and entire community safe. As a volunteer-driven non-profit organization, we ask for your support, and more importantly kindness as we wade through the uncertainties of this year.

The vast majority of your favorite Fair events will still take place, with minor modifications. It may look a little different, but we are thrilled to host a fun, family-oriented event for our community this summer.

Our 2021 Health & Safety Plan will follow the state’s color-coded advisory level system. With proper protocols in place for each advisory level.

We encourage guests to follow the mask guidance provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Any local mandates in place as of July 23, 2021 will be required.

Our 2021 Concert Series will be announced May 12 and pricing for grandstand and track seats will be announced at that time. Concert and grandstand event tickets do not include admission into the Fair. Admission tickets must be purchased separately and are limited in quantity.

Concerts will be forced gap seating to allow for physical distancing. Meaning once someone purchases tickets, the system will automatically block out seats surrounding that group.

If you wish to sit with someone else, you must purchase your tickets within the same order. Due to physical distancing, concert capacities will be limited, and we encourage guests to buy their tickets early.

Other Events

The Fair Queen Pageant will be held at the Grandstand Stage on Friday, July 23. Information about seating is forthcoming.

Information concerning the 2021 Parade will also be coming soon. The parade organizers, Goshen Noon Kiwanis, are working closely with members of our Health & Safety Committee and the Elkhart County Health Department to formulate a plan.

At this time, all your favorite events such as Kids Day, Hometown Hero Day, Senior Day, Green Day, etc will still take place. However, these events may look different and different procedures will be in place for participants to receive the free admission they are accustomed to. Our carnival operator, North American Midway Entertainment, has submitted a separate safety plan to the health department that has been previously approved. Their procedures will be similar with physical distancing procedures, increased sanitation, cashless payment where possible, etc. For more information about their safety procedures, please visit

Elkhart County 4-H is overseen by Purdue Extension and as a separate entity, will make their own decisions and policies regarding 4-H involvement in the 2021 Fair. We welcome the 4-H program with open arms. They have our full support. If you have any questions about the 4-H program, please contact the 4-H Extension Office directly at 574-533-0554.

Physical Distancing

We ask guests to follow all directional signage and maintain six feet of distance from other groups when possible. We strongly advise avoiding physical contact, but celebrate the ability to once again reunite our community.

If any guests feel unwell, have a fever, or exhibit any other symptoms related to COVID-19, we ask that they stay home and refrain from coming to the Fair.

Hand Sanitizer & Hand Washing

Hand sanitizer will be available across the Fairgrounds and frequent use is encouraged. We also encourage our guests to wash their hands often at one of our several handwashing stations.

Increased Sanitation

Facility cleaning protocols, including bathroom maintenance and frequent public touchpoints, will be increased to ensure cleanliness and the health and safety of all guests.
