| The Miracle of Life Animal Birthing Center is located in Young MacDonald Farm (small Animals) and the Calving Center south of Exhibit Building A. The goal of the exhibit is to educate kids and adults on the miracle of birth. There will be many species of animals present in the two locations of the birthing center. Some animals will actually give birth during the fair for fairgoers to observe. Others will have very young offspring on display. The animals planned to give birth at the fair are multiple dairy cows, a sow and many eggs in an incubator. The animals with young babies include rabbits, goats, and previously hatched chicks. The sow, rabbits, chicks, goats and llamas will all be on display in Young MacDonald’s Farm. The dairy cows and calves are located in a large tent at the south end of Building A (otherwise known as the large commercial building). Milk Promotion Services of Indiana has made the dairy birthing center possible with a generous donation. Indiana Dairy Promotions will display one live calf birth every day of the fair for anyone interested to observe. In addition, there will be a gentle Jersey cow available for kids and any interested fairgoers to hone their milking skills. Several of the cow-calf pairs will be on display throughout the week as well. Both locations of the Miracle of Life Animal Birthing Center will be open from 10am to 10pm everyday of the fair, except on Sunday July 19, it will open at 12pm.Please stop by both locations of the Miracle of Life Animal Birthing Center to witness a live calf being born, see a new baby piglet and hold a day old chick. | |||
